Service Design Global Conference 2024: Get to know the keynote speakers!
Service Design Global Conference 2024 gathers world class service design thinkers, doers, and leaders in Helsinki October 2-4, 2024. The onsite event is sold out, but virtual tickets are still available.
The strategic position of service design will be discussed at the industry’s prestigious event, when the annual Service Design Global Conference 2024 (#SDGC24) lands in Helsinki. The goal of the conference is to bring the best in our industry together to share service design knowledge together with new cross-disciplinary methods and thinking.
Three intriguing keynotes
The conference talks will start on Thursday, 3 October with a keynote by Marie Van Driessche. Marie is a Deaf UX Researcher and Designer at Unc Inc. in Amsterdam. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in creating meaningful and inclusive digital experiences by focusing on UX design, research, and accessibility.
Friday, 4 October will be opened by keynote speaker Andy Polaine, a design leadership coach, educator, and writer who helps clients build and grow their own design and innovation capability, transform their organisations and themselves. He is co-author of the Rosenfeld Media book, Service Design: From Insight to Implementation, now a standard text for Service Design.
The conference will close with keynote speaker Coral Michelin. Coral is a strategic and ecosystemic designer, an independent and academic researcher with a focus on ecology, regeneration, systemic thinking, diversity (DE&I), futures, and decoloniality. She is the Science and Technology Product Manager at re.green, a company that restores tropical forests at scale in Brazil.
Designing for impact
The keynote speakers and their talk topics align closely with the conference theme, Designing For Impact, approaching it from diverse angles of expertise as well as geographical and cultural backgrounds. Their talks aim to demonstrate the transformative potential of service design, and underscore the necessity of systemic thinking and collaborative doing to address environmental, social and organizational challenges.
The Service Design Global Conference 2024 is organised by Service Design Network (SDN) and SDN Finland chapter in cooperation with Ornamo Art and Design Finland. The onsite event is sold out, but the virtual tickets are still available.
