Open Call for the Pavilion of Finland at the Venice Biennale 2026

Frame Contemporary Art Finland is seeking project proposals for the Aalto Pavilion of Finland at the Venice Biennale. The team submitting the proposal has to include at least one artist and one curator. The proposal must include one or more artists who are Finnish or based in Finland. The deadline for the proposals is 18 August 2024. Read more about the application process!

Tracks4Crafts Video Contest 

Tracks4Crafts seeks participants passionate about textiles to showcase their creativity and storytelling skills in a video contest. Participants are invited to create videos highlighting the innovation or cultural significance of textile craftsmanship, from traditional weaving, innovative fabric technologies, artisans’ stories, to cultural heritage. The winner will receive a 500€ prize and an invitation, with expenses covered, to three Tracks4Crafts events. The call is open and the application deadline is 30 August 2024. Read more about the contest!

Excellence Finlandin Laatuinnovaatiokilpailu

Excellence Finland järjestää kilpailun, jossa nostetaan ja palkitaan innovaatioita niiden uutuusarvon, hyödynnettävyyden, oppimismahdollisuuksien, asiakaslähtöisyyden ja tuloksellisuuden perusteella. Kilpailun kategoriat ovat vastuullisuus, terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin edelläkävijät, julkishallinto, koulutus sekä yritysinnovaatiot. Eckerö Post and Customs House Artist in Residence

The artist in residence is an apartment located in Eckerö Post and Customs House, consisting of one bedroom and a combined living room/kitchenette, a toilet and a shower (50m2). There is also a workroom that is about 35 m2.

A stay at the guest apartment is primarily granted to practising artists of all artistic disciplines. The apartment is available during the whole year 2025, for a period of an even calendar month. There is a fee of 200 euro/month that each residence guest pays in advance in accordance with the actual coasts.

The application form can be found on the Åland cultural delegation ́s website and the deadline for application is 16th of September 2024, 4.15 p.m.

The island of Källskär Artist in Residence

The small guest residence cottage is located on the uninhabited island of Källskär, Kökar. It offers an extraordinary experience of wild maritime nature and simple life in a primitive seaside cottage.

A stay at the guest residence is granted creative artists and cultural workers from the end of May to September 2025, generally for a period of 1-2 weeks. There is a fee of 50 euro/week that each residence guest pays in advance in accordance with the actual coasts.

Farnham World Craft Town residency

Farnham World Craft Town is offering a one-month residency in Farnham, Surrey, UK, during Spring 2025. This opportunity includes covered travel, living costs, studio space, and accommodation. Artists in residence will be asked to create a piece inspired by Farnham, which will form part of their local craft collection. Call for artwork proposals for the When the Time Comes -exhibition

Taiteilijat O – Artists O organizes a themed and juried group exhibition When the Time Comes for its members at the Stoa gallery in Helsinki in November–December 2025. The curator, visual artist Petri Kaverma, is responsible for selecting the works of the exhibition, and the application period is 8.8.-30.9.

When the Time Comes -exhibition presents art and objects related to death, burial and commemorations. The theme of the exhibition is not tied to a specific religion or culture, but the purpose is to open a discussion through art about different types of handling death and funerals, as well as remembering and honoring the deceased.

Révélations – event for fine crafts and contemporary creation

Révélations by Ateliers d’Art de France is an event for fine crafts and contemporary creation on an international scale. The 7th edition will be held from 21 – 25 May 2025 and will focus on presenting unique, never-before-seen works to an exceptional public. Applications are open to creators, material artists, craftspeople, gallery owners or designers to take part and showcase their work. The LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 

The LOEWE FOUNDATION seeks to recognize uniquely talented artisans whose artistic vision and will to innovate set new standards for the future of craft. The Prize for the winning entry is 50,000 euros. The shortlisted and winning works will feature in the exhibition and accompanying catalogue in Madrid in Spring 2025. Applications are open to artists of all ages (over 18) and nationalities, regardless of experience or reputation. Deadline for submissions is 30 October 2024. Read more about the Craft Prize!
