Helsinki In­sti­tute of Sustainability Science  HELSUS: Sustainability transformations are fundamental changes in societies paving their way towards sustainable well-being of nature and humans. To achieve these sustainability transformations, new approaches and methodologies must be developed in the field of sustainability science. This is one focus of the research and teaching at HELSUS. This site provides information and themes that HELSUS focuses.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change: The IPCC prepares comprehensive Assessment Reports about the state of scientific, technical and socio-economic knowledge on climate change, its impacts and future risks, and options for reducing the rate at which climate change is taking place. It also produces Special Reports on topics agreed to by its member governments, as well as Methodology Reports that provide guidelines for the preparation of greenhouse gas inventories.

Degrowth: Degrowth is an idea that critiques the global capitalist system which pursues growth at all costs, causing human exploitation and environmental destruction. The degrowth movement of activists and researchers advocates for societies that prioritize social and ecological well-being instead of corporate profits, over-production and excess consumption.
